SHRI MAHALASA NARAYANI!

Shri Mahalasa Narayani is the powerful Kuladevata (family deity) of many Hindus, especially in western and southern India. Mahalasa is another name for Lord Vishnu's famous avataar (incarnation) as Mohini, the enchantress.

Shri Mahalasa's main temple is located at Mardol in the western Indian state of Goa. However, temples dedicated to Her are known to exist in other states.

One temple that was recently set up and is fast becoming popular is the scenic temple at Harikhandige, in Udupi district of coastal Karnataka. Nestled amidst hills & forests, the temple is an ideal example of deep faith, devotion, dedication and sacrfice exhibited by Her devotees.
